ContiTech Shows Newspaper Printing Blanket
Innovative design principle enhances stability
Based on the proven CONTI AIR® technology and an innovative design principle, the newspaper printing blanket, ENTROPIA-TR 2, developed by ContiTech Elastomer Coatings is on view at the IfraExpo in Vienna. Engineers at ContiTech have given this, the successor to the established ENTROPIA-TR, an additional compressible layer under the cover. It makes for reduced transport performance wherever this is demanded, e.g. in the case of shaftless drives and satellite designs, but also provides the same in the case of critical web routing in rubber/rubber configurations.
Thanks to its unique design, however, the ENTROPIA-TR 2 delivers exceptional stability even in the case of classical, shaft-driven machines, combining this feature with the reduced sinking so typical of all CONTI AIR® newspaper printing blankets. Other advantages: Engineered as it is, the new blanket generates less of a temperature build-up during the printing process, something that coldset users are demanding ever more frequently. With its extremely low running temperatures, the typical problems encountered in newspaper printing – like swelling and a buildup of paper dust and ink – are minimized. What is more, perfect machine configuration is no problem with the ENTROPIA-TR 2. It ensures uniform engine power input in the case of shaftless drives and guarantees stable production conditions.
With the ENTROPIA-TR 2 ContiTech Elastomer Coatings is taking the logical next step in the evolution of its CONTI-AIR® coldset line of printing blankets. This innovative and stable product is ideally suited to the requirements of newspaper offset presses.
