In demand – the ENTROPIA-TR 2

ENTROPIA-TR 2 has enjoyed high customer demand in the field of newspaper printing

The further development of the tried-and-tested ENTROPIA-TR printing blanket has paid off: ENTROPIA-TR 2, which is based on what is referred to as Air2 technology and is equipped with an additional compressible layer under the cover, has enjoyed high customer demand in the field of newspaper printing since the drupa 2008.

"ENTROPIA-TR 2 is a cost-effective and technically stable product that is ideally suited to the requirements of newspaper offset presses," explains CONTI-AIR® area manager Sven Speier, "irrespective of whether for classical shaft-driven machines or high-speed satellite machines. It exhibits ideal paper transport properties."

On the traditional four-high units, the ENTROPIA-TR 2 develops a high stability thanks to the unique design, especially because of its defined low sink characteristics Engineered as it is, the new blanket ensures much less of a temperature build-up during printing. “Its running temperatures are extremely low. This minimizes swelling, linting, ink buildup and other problems typically occurring in newspaper printing,” emphasizes Joachim Herrmann, head of printing blanket development at ContiTech Elastomer Coatings. What is more, perfect machine configuration is no problem with the ENTROPIA-TR 2. It ensures uniform engine power consumption in the case of shaftless drives and guarantees stable production conditions. All of these characteristics impressed for instance the Helsingin Sanomat – Finland's highest circulation and most highly influential newspaper recently started printing with the CONTI-AIR® ENTROPIA-TR 2 blanket.
