2nd CONTI-AIR® Golf-Cup
Information and Sports
Talking shop while touring the factory and playing golf: ContiTech Elastomer Coatings, the world's second-largest printing blanket manufacture, had invited customers from Germany, Switzerland, Croatia and the Benelux countries to the Northeim plant for the 2nd CONTI-AIR® Golf Cup.
While golf greenhorns could gather initial experience with the sport in a get-acquainted course, the pros headed for one of Germany's most beautiful 18-hole greens, the six-mile course in Nörten-Hardenberg. The final winner was Mathias Glas, from the Weber printing company in Germany, ahead of Gianni Calamassi and Urs Locher, both from GRIMM Handels AG in Switzerland.
It was more than just a sport event, of course. On the first day of the get-together, CONTI-AIR® area manager Jan Jungmann presented the latest CONTI-AIR® heatset printing blanket developments. They exhibit a special feature: The printing blanket makes not only for an optimum printing image but also for perfect paper transport. For this reason it is the love of habitually deadline-plagued printers.
"The 3rd Golf Cup is already in the pipeline," says the new segment head, Dr. Thomas Perković, who saw in the event an opportunity to get to know the customers. "Golf and printing make a good match. In both cases, one must be determined to achieve perfection so as to turn out excellent results. CONTI-AIR® products help printers realize this goal."
Active golfers: Gregor Ellegast, former head of the CONTI-AIR segment; Rolf Weeke, Media Print Barleben; Matthias Horn, KBA; and Gianni Calamassi, GRIMM HANDELS AG, Switzerland.
